Creating an Adaptive Creativity System

There is no Nike commercial that can orchestrate your inner music. There is no "just do it" for the complex strings that compose us.

Creating an Adaptive Creativity System

A system to manifest your creativity is more important than the specific creative work you want to achieve. This is a generalization, and of course, it isn't universally true, but it's true for the sake of the point I'm conveying. When you're done with the creative thing that you're trying to do, that creative thing departs to the world, but the system stays with you for your next project.

Even more importantly, it is about you creating your personal system. A system that you will develop continuously and adaptively throughout your life through the growing pains of expressing your creativity.

Embracing Personal Intricacies

We all have our personal intricacies, mood swings, personal fears, and FOMO that swing left and right from any task that we are doing directly.

When I spend a whole day with my daughter, who is, at the time of this writing, eight months old, it is like seeing into a raw, non-camouflaged behavioral muscle of these intricacies. Through her, I can also see how extremely, and I cannot emphasize that enough, extremely sensitive we are, not only to the outside world but to the mysterious orchestra that lives within us.

Metaphor of Being an Orchestra

If we think about ourselves through the metaphor of being an orchestra, we are not only capable of creating symphonies, composing them, and expressing them, but very often a lot of the players will drop a musical instrument to the floor, they will cough randomly, even fart, go to the restroom, get a coffee, be out of tune, and so on.

So, maybe, instead of bullying ourselves into playing the best music in the shortest way possible, we should allow time to rehearse, to experiment, use chirping birds for audio in the restroom, emphasize good nutritious catering services, nourish the talented players, and allow time and space to have a conversation with a difficult violinist.

There is No Easy Solution

There is no Nike commercial that can orchestrate your inner music. There is no "just do it" for the complex strings that compose us.
